Gakuyo is facing hard times over his collapsed Ekeza Sacco in which over Sh2 .4 billion is believed to have been misappropriated under his watch. Last week, he said plans are in place to refund members their money.

“By end of this week I will have refunded all members mapped to be 1,500 who had Sh5,000 downwards as savings in Ekeza Sacco,” he said.

“We are disposing of our assets to get money. We are also pursuing those who owe us…and we are also seeking out strategic partners to revive our businesses. We have the goodwill to guarantee no member will lose any deposit…All we seek is patience and understanding,” he said.

But the man of God has now directed his fury to Tanga Tanga team, accusing Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu of borrowing over Sh400 million from the Sacco, adding that he's yet to return.

"They are now fighting me. I gave Waititu Sh400 million for campaigns, he's yet to return. He has ganged up with William Kabogo to fight me. Their agenda will flop. They are frustrating President Uhuru Kenyatta everyday," he said.

Gakuyo added: "We will not allow them to Tanga Tanga in Mt Kenya without Uhuru. Presidency is not vacant. Only Uhuru should move around. Those in Tanga Tanga are unwelcome. We shall protect the president using every resources at disposal."

Governor Waititu has been leading DP Ruto's campaigns in Central Kenya despite warning from President Uhuru Kenyatta. And Bishop Gakuyo believes DP Ruto is out to frustrate the president.

Last week, an interdenominational prayer function that was to take place at Murang'a was cancelled by the office of the DP. While Ruto blamed rains, sources said President Kenyatta was opposed to the event.
