Duale says that some MPs are unprocedurally drafting motions of impeachment without consulting the Clerk of the National Assembly.

Speaking to journalists  at the Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Thursday,  Duale said that most of the motions being pushed  by some MPs to have certain CSs impeached are malicious and meant to blackmail the state officials.

He said that any impeachment motion has to adhere to the House standing procedures before being tabled or even drafted.

"It is unfortunate that some of our colleagues are unprocedurally collecting signatures to impeach Cabinet Secretaries without consulting the Clerk of the Assembly," he said.

Duale said that blackmail and malicious intent by some MPs will not be tolerated anymore.

He said that MPs understand the House procedures and must adhere to it and stop shaming the National Assembly.

"If one wants to censure a motion of impeachment against a CS or state official must do it in accordance with the House standing orders and not blackmail," he said.
