Magoha’s nomination was approved by the Speaker Justin Muturi-led committee on Tuesday.

He is expected to assume office following the mini-reshuffle in the Cabinet that saw Sport Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa fired.

The former Education CS Amina Mohammed took over the sports docket after President Uhuru Kenyatta made the changes.

The report by the committee is expected to be tabled in parliament today.

The committee ascertained that the nominee meets professional training and experience standards as outlined in the Public Appointments Act.

The committee stated that Magoha had proven that he was the perfect choice for the post during the vetting process. They noted that he is best positioned to serve in the capacity without any form of fear or favoritism.

“He has also not been adversely associated with practices that depict bias, favouritism or nepotism in the discharge of public duties,”he said, as quoted by Citizen.

During the vetting, Magoha promised to address a number of issues in the education.  Teacher-student affairs was among the issues he insisted will not happen once he assumes office.

Before the vetting, many leaders endorsed him for the post including Chief Justice David Maraga.
