Bonchari Member of Parliament John Oyioka on Monday attended the official launch of the Huduma Number registration in Suneka.
Speaking at the function the MP said residents should ignore false information doing rounds that the program is satanic.
"No one is going to send evil powers to us just because of registering for the Huduma number. It is important to note that anyone planning ill on us will not succeed given that Kisii's we are feared because of night runners," Oyioka said amid cheers from the crowd.
The lawmaker said there was no way the government would collaborate with devils to shade blood in this country.
He noted that individuals claiming that the Huduma Number is associated with the devil were doing it to get political mileage.
The legislator insisted that the personal identification system will help simplify processes and enhance public service delivery in the country.
"My constituents should not be left behind. We must join other Kenyans to register for the Huduma Number thus heeding to President Uhuru Kenyatta's directive that we are NIIMS compliant to boost governance," said Oyioka.
