Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV's JKL show on Wednesday evening, Kuria confirmed that the altercation did indeed take place.

However, he blamed it on Murathe, claiming that he provoked him during the show, hence the disagreement.

"Murathe is talented and can upset you even on your most quiet peaceful day," said the vocal parliamentarian.

However, he noted that the scuffle does not affect the personal friendship that exists between them.

Kuria said that between himself and the former Gatanga parliamentarian exists a strong friendship which will not be eroded by such disagreements.

"However, he remains my friend on a personal level," he added.

Both leaders have been very vocal lately, with Kuria using his airtime to publicise his presidential bid for the 2022 general elections.

He has maintained that he is ready for the much-anticipated race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta who is on his way to retirement.

Murathe is, on the other hand, busy trying to disable Deputy President William Ruto's bid for the same seat and has termed him unfit for the slot.
