One person lost his life and 13 others sustained injuries after an accident on Wednesday night in Machakos.
The accident involving a 14-seater Nissan happened at Katheka Kai area.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the vehicle was speeding and while he negotiated a corner, the tyre burst making it impossible for him to control the vehicle thus rolling severally.
Pius Kioko, Katheka Kai location chief confirmed the accident saying that the Nissan was heading to Makutano from Machakos.
Kioko said six people sustained serious injuries while seven others had minor Injuries.
Those injured were taken to Machakos Level Five hospital for treatment while the body of the person who died was moved to the same hospital's mortuary.
"Drivers should ensure their vehicles are in good condition before starting a journey. This is to avoid a case like this, also let them follow traffic rules," the chief said.
The wreckage of the vehicle was towed to Machakos police station awaiting inspection.
