As Kenyans across the country marked the Jamhuri Day requirements in colour and celebration, Nairobi governor Mike Sonko expressed great pleasure at marking the day with county residents in the city.
Speaking in Nairobi on Wednesday, Sonko expressed gratitude for the support the national government was giving his administration.
"I’m happy to join the rest of Kenyans in marking this great day when we attained our independence. On behalf of the Nairobi City County Government I want to express my gratitude for the support and collaboration that we continue to receive from the national government," he said.
"Going forward, we have a joint strategy for the Rapid Bus Transit system and commuter rail to create a reliable public transport for Nairobi City," Sonko added.
