Haji wants the case at the Naivasha magistrates court transferred to Nairobi.

In an application filed on Tuesday, the DPP said the trial of Solai dam owner Perry Mansukh and eight other accused persons should be moved to Nairobi for safety reasons.

The DPP through Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions (SADPP),  Alexander Muteti told court that the scene of the crime has been interfered with.

He also argues that there is an attempt by some accused persons to interfere with witnesses.

The DPP also told the court that security of prosecutors and court officials involved in the case cannot be guaranteed at the Naivasha law courts.

Mansukh and eight others were charged with 48 counts of manslaughter after the Solai tragedy that claimed 48 people.

A section of Nakuru leaders among them Senator Susan Kihika have been pushing for justice to the families of the victims.
