Controversial politician Miguna Miguna on Saturday evening claimed that KTN News Anchor Linda Ogutu had blocked him after the two disagreed on the usage of the word ‘eskimo’.
Ogutu had described how a young girl, believed to be her daughter, had been dressed up like an ‘eskimo’ by her nanny.
“Her nanny dressed her up like an Eskimo... They went out to play at 2pm....they have just come back home... At 6.20...Looking like this,” the KTN News anchor tweeted.
Miguna took to the comment section of the tweet to claim that Ogutu had used the word wrongly. According to the deported lawyer, the word ‘eskimo’ is racist and the news anchor should have avoided using it.
“The word "Eskimo" is a racist term Caucasians used to refer to the First Nations People of North America. It is equivalent to "Nigger." Of all all people, media personalities should be extremely sensitive and avoid usage of such toxic words,” Miguna commented.
The dust seemed to have settled until Miguna came back to claim that Ogutu had blocked him for being rectified.
“Linda Ogutu blocked me for correcting her racist usage of the word "Eskimo" to describe First Nations people of North America. Kenyan media personalities must stop being mediocre and lazy. She is, after all, the People's Con-Man's worshipper,” he tweeted.
