According to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga's aide Silas Jakakimba, the function will be held at Wakula Mixed Secondary School.

Jakakimba said in a tweet that the duo will also lead a strong team of leaders for the function aimed at raising funds for the institution.

"This Saturday 11th May, 2019, Senate Minority Leader, Senior Council James Orengo, assisted by Rarieda MP Hon. Dr. Paul Otiende Amollo will lead a strong team of leaders and several other friends to Wakula Mixed Sec. School's Infrastructure support event on the Promised Island, Mfangano," he tweeted.

The event comes at a time the ODM leader has spoken against fundraisers, terming them one of the techniques being used by corrupt politicians to launder proceeds of graft.

Politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto under the tag 'Team Tanga Tanga' are known for crisscrossing the country in attending various fundraisers.

A fortnight ago, Orengo presided over another such function at the Rangala Catholic Church in Siaya, for the face lifting of the church.
