Jehovah Wanyonyi will actually remain the most decorated preacher in the Kenyan history with most people knowing little about him.

Wanyonyi was a self-proclaimed god and the leader of the 'Lost Israelites' Ministries who lived in Chemororoch village in Uasin Gishu County. 

He claimed to be the Almighty God and deemed Jesus Christ to be his son and considered Mount Elgon which is near his home to be Mount Zion. He died on July 18, 2015, at the age of 91.

Here are some of the facts about Jehovah Wanyonyi you probably did not know;

Demanded Sh3 billion from the government

The self-proclaimed good once demanded that the Kenyan government pays him Sh3 billion failure to which he would severely punish her people with HIV and AIDS to which he claimed to cure it. The money was however never paid to him by the government.

Was a very poor man

In an interview with BBC news correspondent on November 12, 2001, Jehovah Wanyonyi confessed that he was poor with nothing to provide for his larger family.

"I am a poor man with more than 95 children to feed. Look at these children, they have not eaten anything this morning. I need 1,000 shillings to buy bread for them," he told the correspondent.

Had 25 wives

Jehovah Wanyonyi actually loved women given that he had married up to 25 of them with some claimed to be as young as 16 years. He had 95 children in the process and to much surprise, he knew each of them by their two names.

He had a jail with fire in his compound

The self-proclaimed god had a jail with fire where sinners could be punished. He also had a podium where he and his close associates could sit.

Never wanted to be questioned

During Christmas celebrations, Jehovah Wanyonyi allows his over 1,000 followers to stage plays about the crucifixion of Jesus Christ but at no time did he allow anyone to question him in regards to his deity and authority.
