Barely a day after the Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) leader Kalonzo Musyoka's visit, statehouse comptroller Kinuthia Mbugua has visited retired President Daniel Moi.
The former Nakuru Governor and close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta visited Moi at his Kabarak home in Nakuru county on Saturday.
According to Moi's Press Secretary Lee Njiru, Mbugua who once served as a Nakuru District Commissioner under Moi visited to review operations in the retired Head of State's office.
“Mr Mbugua and Mzee Moi’s talks focused on areas that needed improvement," Njiru said in a statement according to the Nation.
So far, opposition leader Raila Odinga, Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Devolution Cabinet Secretary are the top political figures who have visited the ageing Moi.
On Friday, Kalonzo and a delegation of leaders including Makueni and Kitui Senators Mutula Kilonzo and Enock Wambua visited Moi, with their talks reportedly revolving around Kalonzo's recent appointment as the head of peace delegation in South Sudan.
The visits have also been associated with the forthcoming general polls, especially the much anticipated presidential race, where Moi is expected to name his preferred candidate.
Deputy President William Ruto remains the only top national leader yet to meet Moi after his attempt earlier in May flopped.
