Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi condemned High Court judge Jesse Lessit for denying Migori Governor Zachary Okoth Obado bond.
According to Maangi, Obado's constitutional rights are being violated.
"The Judge handling Obado's case must be condemned because she is being used to intimidate and blackmail the governor. Obado was elected to serve the people of Migori and not staying in remand," he said.
"We have seen other politicians being released on bond and I am not happy with the way Obado is being handled. He has a right to be released on bond so that he can continue serving his electorates," he added.
He called on Governor Obado's political rivals to stop celebrating Obado's tribulations but, instead stand with him and ensure he is released.
He was speaking on Thursday at the Nyamache Green Stadium.
