With Rosemary Odinga confined to bed and a less active Raila Odinga Jnr, the veteran politician has settled on his youngest daughter as apparent heir.

A source privy to Odinga's politics says Winnie's presence in Raila's major meetings and trips is part of ongoing strategy of introducing her formally to the country's murky politics.

"When he retires, he must leave behind someone who will take over from him.

"This explain why Winnie's presence is ever increasing. He is in the process of introducing her to national politics," said the source.

Raila's matrix, adds the source, was severely sabotaged in two occassions within a span of two years.

First, he lost his eldest son, Fidel Odinga before the sudden illness of Rosemary, who had formally declared interest in Kibra Constituency seat ahead of 2017 polls.

Political scientist Gideon Mamboleo contends that Winnie will be a perfect choice.

"She is bright and adopts easily to situations. I think there is no big deal about it."

Within the Odinga dynasty, RailaRaila's elder brother, Oburu Oginga, is also headed to an inevitable retirement since he will be 81 years old in 2022.

Also, Ruth Odinga, his sister and former Kisumu DG, has reduced vicinity lately.

Besides flying with Winnie to South Africa on Sunday, Raila was noticeably accompanied by her when he met President Barack Obama.
