Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has joined President Uhuru Kenyatta and other leaders in the country in sending a message of condolence to the family of the late Jonathan Moi.

Mutua said that the death of Jonathan, an eldest son of former President Daniel Moi, has left the nation in deep shock. He said that he is saddened after receiving the news that Moi was no more.  

The county boss, who is completing his second and final term in office, eulogized the deceased as a great contributor to humanity before his untimely death.

“My sincere condolences to the family of Jonathan Toroitich. It is always sad to lose a loved one. I have spoken to his wife & expressed our solidarity & prayers at this time of sadness. May God also give Mzee Moi, my friend Gideon & Jonathan’s children & family comfort,” he said through his Twitter account.

In his message of condolence, Uhuru also expressed shock upon receiving the news. He said that his prayers are with the family following the death.

“Your Excellency, our collective thoughts and prayers as a family and as a country are with you, your family and friends during this difficult period of mourning. May the Almighty God rest the soul of our brother and friend Jonathan Toroitich Moi in eternal peace,” President Kenyatta said.
