Speaking during a burial ceremony in Uamani, Matungulu sub-county of Machakos County, Muthama noted that the country needs a leader who is not greedy so that corruption levels can go down.

"Those who have lined up for 2022 presidential race, none of them can save the country from poverty, we will be poor forever, why, because the country needs a leader like Julius Nyerere who is selfless and focused on changing the country," he said.

"What is being said when Ruto speaks is that he is a thief when Raila speaks he is told he is not clean too and so is Kalonzo. Whenever we think the fight against corruption is getting somewhere other cases come out," added the former legislator.

Muthama also hit out at the top leadership of the country for not questioning lawmakers' move to award themselves Sh250,000 house allowance in fear that the MPs may revolt against them.

" Uhuru, Raila Kalonzo and every leader wishing to be president hasn't condemned the lawmakers move because they fear that the MPs may destroy for them in their constituencies," he said.

The vocal politician noted that MPs should be ashamed of themselves for awarding themselves the house allowance yet they have a salary and other allowances.
