Confirming the incident area police boss Isaac Thuranira said the suspect, Isabela Kerubo and her son Victor Nguye allegedly colluded and killed Peter Nguye on the wee hours of Monday morning.

“Kerubo is the wife to the deceased. The couple has been having problems since they got married several years ago. Kerubo accused her husband of stealing maize from their farm and trading it in exchange for chang’aa,” said the police boss.

Thuranira said Kerubo and her 19-year-old son are accused of using a rope to strangle the deceased to death.

“Kerubo and Victor strangled the deceased to death using a rope when he returned home drunk at 3am on Monday. The body was recovered on Monday evening in a ditch where the suspects dumped it,” he added.

He said members of the public arrested the suspects when they tried to escape and surrendered them to police.

“Charge sheets are being prepared for the suspects to be arraigned in court on Thursday,” he stated.

The body of the deceased was taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
