Nakuru County Assembly leader of Majority Stanley Karanja said people living with disability will be more considered in allocation of tenders.

"We want more tenders be given to people living with disability to improve their living standards. For this to be achieved disabled people need to form groups and apply for tenders once they are advertised in the county," said the ward representative.

Karanja urged governor Lee Kninjanui not to ignore disabled people as it happened in the previous administration that was led by former governor Kinuthia Mbugua.

"Disabled people have been ignored for long and it is time for governor Lee Kinyanjui to involve the disabled in his leadership so that they don't feel neglcted and desperate which may lead them to commit suicide," he stated.

He said that services will be at the ward level for the disabled people to get access to the services instead of travelling to Nakuru town to be served.

"Disabled people don't need to travel from villages to Nakuru town to get services. The services should be provided at the ward level," added Karanja.

The majority leader was speaking at Nakuru County Assembly on Tuesday when the MCAs passed a motion for the county to buy fee wheelchairs for disabled people.
