According to Ms Museo, cases of sexual assault would significantly reduce if women went to bed without their innerwear.

Ms Museo argued that women who go to bed fully clothed deny their husbands conjugal rights, making them fall into temptations.

The lawmaker further urged women to be the uniting factor in the family and to not neglect their husbands.

“Part of the anger experienced among many Kenyans starts at the family level. When a man leaves the house unhappy, he cannot serve his country well.”

“Be brave and treat your husband’s well so that they leave their house for work happy men. That way, they will serve the nation well. When there’s peace in Kenyan marriages, the society and country will be peaceful,” she added.

Ms Museo also threatened to publicly undress and humiliate men caught in defilement cases in the region.

Here are reactions from Garissa residents following her statement:

“I support the Woman Rep, women should come to bed wearing no panties. My sex life with my wife would improve if she did that more often,” said Abdirahman Kassim.

“Am a woman and most of the times I sleep without any inner wear. I sleep better and also there are health benefits of sleeping without underwear,” said Yasmin Adamali.

“Women should not neglect the needs of their husbands. The MP has a great idea of reducing sexual assault cases,” said Ifrah Khalif.

“Sleeping without underwear can stimulate our sexual urge because our spouse or significant other will think that we are interested in doing a sexual activity. It will also reduce cases of cheating,” said Mahmoud Maalim.
