Internal wrangles wuthi NASA coalition led to last minute withdrawal of James Orengo as Raila Odinga's Chief Agent at Bomas, veteran journalist John Onyando reveals.
Also affected was former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama, who was to deputise the Siaya senator.
In his Failed Quest for Electoral Justice, Onyando gives blow by blow account of bitter infighting within Raila's Secretariat, that allegedly mismanaged his campaigns.
"In June, Anyang'Nyong'o recommended Joe Ager to take over from Willis Otieno, who had lost control. A week later, he was hired but his bad relationship with Otieno worsened things.
"At some point, Ager recommended Orengo and Muthama to be chief agents but the decision would later be reversed," narrates Onyando.
Instead, Otieno, an astute lawyer, replaced the duo with Musalia Mudavadi and Ogla Karani.
The infighting also saw Raila's daughter, Winnie Odinga, reportedly harassing and dictating senior secretariat members among them Mr. Otieno.
While Orengo was part of Bomas team, Mudavadi played a key role and was Raila's chief agent.
