Uasin Gishu Kikuyu spokesman Samuel Kamunu Wa Kabari has warned politicians against talking about 2022 politics.
Speaking to the press in Eldoret town on Saturday Kamunu said that such utterances will take the country back to the electioneering mood, raising political temperatures and might lead to enmity between tribes.
“As Kikuyu leaders from Uasin Gishu, we are not happy when politicians always talk about 2022, abusing each other name calling among others, if we are not keen Kenya will go back to the 2007 violence just because of reckless statements,” Kabari said.
He reiterated that it is a shame when a politician stands on the podium talking about politics yet his people are dying of hunger.
“Let’s refrain from early campaigns and concentrate of bettering the livelihood of the electorates and we will cross the 2022 bridge when we reach there,” he added.
The Uasin Gishu Kikuyu community spokesman further warned politicians against politicizing the fight against corruption saying graft suspects should carry their own cross and should not involve their community.
Kabari noted that those found stealing public money should be arrested, taken to court and given harsh jail terms thereafter forced to return the public money that he or she has stolen.
