Things will no longer be calm in Siaya County after the Supreme Court annulled Ugenya lawmaker Chris Karan's August 8 election.
The ruling means that a by election is guaranteed in the constituency.
Consequently, the region will soon be turned into a noisy haven as aspirants turn it into a battle field in pursuit of the legislative slot.
This will be worsened by their allies, huge motorcades and noisy campaign convoys as candidates attempt to get heard.
Also, the region will soon host large delegations of leaders seeking to have their preferred candidates ascend to the seat.
Among these is opposition leader Raila Odinga who leads the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), the region's dominant party and the immediate holder of the seat.
Odinga will be is expected to organise ODM campaigns in the region and to also drum up support for the party's candidate.
Heated exchanges and propaganda should also be expected to fill the air when the campaign proper begins.
