Many youths are graduating every year, which means that many of these youths will be out hunting jobs.
Most job seekers travel far and wide when they sniff a job prospect or opening.
It is disappointing that most employers do not pick them sometimes, and don't even inform the applicant that he or she did not pass the interview.
1. Inform them they were not successful after an interview
After spending a lot of money travelling, which they may have probably borrowed, the applicant will sit through an interview, and later informed that they would be contacted.
However, this is often not the case as applicants wait with bated breaths, hoping for good news.
Days pass, and nothing is forthcoming leading the applicant to conclude that he or she was not picked for the job.
It would be nice if employers informed applicants that they were not successful after an interview.
2.Reasons why they were not picked
When you inform job seekers why they were not picked after an interview, it helps them make adjustments where possible.
If they lacked a particular skill, then the applicant would definitely know he or she was not best suited for the job, and work to improve on those skills.
3. Don’t make applicants attend an interview as a formality
In a world where people get fixed to jobs without even attending an interview, it is cruel to subject innocent job seekers to an interview where there’s already a preferred candidate.
Don’t make someone travel 'half the world' for a job interview that he or she won’t get at all.
Make merit the guiding principle during employment.
