Mwilu is facing allegations of misuse of office and forgery. She was represented by a team of over 40 defense lawyers.Speaking on Radio Sauti ya Mwananchi on Saturday, Koigi claimed the lawyers’ decision to flood the case is not meant to ensure justice."They just wanted to impress Deputy Chief Justice and pass a message that they are on their side for reasons best known to them," Koigi said. The legal team is led by senior lawyers John Khaminwa and Siaya Senator James Orengo.Among charges brought against the embattled Mwilu is that she suspiciously received Sh12 million from the troubled Imperial Bank before its collapse.Mwilu has, however, dismissed the charges claiming it is witch-hunt from the executive.
