Migori county government has denied claims that it tarmacked a section of a feeder road leading to embattled Supreme Court Judge Jackton Ojwang's home in Kakrao village.
Justice Ojwang' is currently battling allegations of bribery and gross misconduct.
Migori CeC in charge of roads Moses Chamwada while dismissing the claims said that it the county government has the mandate to tarmac all feeder roads in the county.
“The claims by a section of media houses that the county government tarmacked the road to Justice Ojwang's home is misleading, false and ill-intended. In fact, it is the county government that maintains roads within the county," he said.
He urged the media not to propagate misleading information that may stir discord in society.
“How can the media purport that the road was tarmacked yet the video clip clearly shows a section of a murram road leading to the home? I think this is malicious and should be the case in our media," he remarked.
Justice Ojwang' is accused of benefiting from rehabilitation of a road to his house in favour of Governor Okoth Obado in a case pitting him against the sugar belt.
The petition had been filed with the Judicial Service Commission. President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to constitute a tribunal to hear the matter against the Supreme Court judge.
