Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has accused Senator Kipchumba Murkomen of encouraging impunity through the statement regardng graft allegations on projects slotted for Elgeyo Marakwet.
Wambugu in the post on his Facebook page responded to Murkomen's denial of the alleged lose of funds for construction of Kimwarer and Arror dams in Elgeyo Marakwet.
Murkomen has argued that that the investigations into the matter be halted for targeting an individual, naming Deputy President William Ruto.
Mr.Wambugu has said that Murkomen is trying to cow the investigative agencies so that they do not proceed with the probe.
The MP blamed Murkomen for double speak,wondering why the senator claimed to be fighting corruption yet he does not encourage investigations into the matter.
The Nyeri MP said the senator has turned the issue into a political pursuit by individuals determined to fight Kalenjins and stop Ruto's 2022 ambitions.
The post concluded; "In short; Ethnic profiling + Victimization narrative + Legal talk to avoid legal responsibility + angry hot air = impunity, tensions and (ultimately) inter-ethic conflict."
"Boss; tunakuonea 18. Hizi vitisho and kizungu mingi will not work (Boss, we are watching you. All these threats wil not work). Not this time,"Wambugu warned.
