Speaking at Citizen TV's JKL show on Wednesday, Kabogo said it is time for Raila to hand over the baton to the young turks within the Orange Democratic Movement party’s file and rank.

Kabogo made the remarks while responding to a question on whether he thinks the ODM party leader will run for the country’s top seat come 2022.

“Going by the past trends, he will run. There are all indications that he will run, but if I were to advise him I would tell him to now retire and hand over the baton to the young turks. He is a bit too old now,” the ex-county boss said.

He also called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to come out and explain to members of his Jubilee party what the handshake is all about in order to calm the rising temperatures in the country.

“The President should come out and tell his people what the handshake is all about. Ruto is human just like us and he is feeling left out. There is no need of building one bridge and destroying others, the bridge should accommodate all,” Kabogo said.
