For the second time in a duration of three days, outspoken Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i will meet Deputy President William Ruto after weeks of cold war.
On Wednesday, the two briefly shared podium at State House when President Uhuru Kenyatta was giving a briefing hours after DusitD2 terror attack which claimed 21 lives.
And at Nyansiongo on Friday, the two will share podium at Mama Peninah Osero's funeral, who was wife to former North Mugirango MP the late Joseph Osero and mother to seasoned politician Patrick Osero.
"The DP will arrive anytime from now. He's a family friend and his main agenda is to relay his condolences. This isn't a day to politic and it's not his nature to," argued David Mokaya, his aide.
Dr Matiang'i will join mourners also due to his close friendship with the Osero family. His home is just about 5 kilometers from Nyansiongo where the funeral will take place.
In December, Matiang'i openly accused the DP of using his position to push for contracts from the interior ministry with police uniforms being the major reason behind their fallout.
"I will tell you to face that no contract will be given to anyone. We must fight this nonsense called corruption. The uniforms will be done by NYS," a furious Matiang'i said.
For the last one year, Matiang'i has snubbed all trips by Ruto to Gusii region which hit a record 17 by the beginning of this year. The two used to go well along before the suprise handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.
By 11am on Friday, VIP security forces had arrived at Borabu, Nyansiongo, an indication that the DP was just about to land at the venue.
