A man in his early 40s is yet to come to terms after he was sodomized.
The incident happened in Boisukia village, Bomariba in Kisii County.
It is alleged that the victim identified as Onsombi was drunk when the heinous act was done to him.
"Onsombi was sleeping on the road under the influence of alcohol near Arkland bar along Kasarani-Mogumo road at 8 pm when a man undressed him and sodomized him," said a local Zachary Orero.
Mr Orero said Onsombi who was awakened by the pain inflicted to him by the suspect screamed for help.
"The victim screamed for help prompting the suspect to flee from the scene. We rushed him to Nyamagundo level 4 hospital where medics confirmed that he was sodomized," said Orero.
Onsombi who is now recuperating appealed to local authorities to hunt down the suspect who sodomized him.
Area assistant chief Benjamin Ayuma assured that the suspect is being traced to be nabbed.
"The suspect must be arrested to face the law," he stated.
He warned residents against consuming alcohol in excess adding that the crackdown on illicit brew business is ongoing.
