Winning football gambling in the ongoing 2018 World Cup held in Russia has gone to a higher level in Kenyatta University after a second-year student identified as David Wachira won an amazing sh134,000 from England vs Colombia game on Tuesday.
Jeremy, a close friend of him revealed that the 20-year-old student who pursues an economic course had decided to use his money meant for rent to gamble after a heated discussion on who will score among the Colombian players if there would be a goal.
"We were taking our super as usual but suddenly Wachira brought up the England versus Colombian game to which I fully supported England to win the game," said Jeremy.
"On who to score, Wachira kept on telling me Barcelona star Yerry Mina will score at any time if there would be a Colombian goal, I saw this as a big joke but Wachira was so serious that he decided to placed a bet on Yerry Mina to score which had 67.0 odds whereby he placed with the whole sh3,000 we were to pay our rent, with possible winnings of sh134,000," Jeremy added.
Jeremy further revealed that after their cool super, they went to the social hall where they could follow up with the game.
At first half, there was still hope for any Colombia goal, but after England superstar, Harry Kane converted a penalty at 57th minute Wachira's hopes of Yerry Mina scoring a goal went down further after a solid defence from England players.
It was at 90th minute, injury time when his hopes of winning sh134,000 were revived after a cool header by Yerry Mina whose goal was an equaliser.
"Wachira could not believe he had won that amount after Yerry Mina scored the equalising goal and surely his bet had won!" said Jeremy while revealing that Wachira had planned a 'bash' with the money.
The Colombian team were later beaten at penalties and England are to face Swedish side in quarters.
