Deputy President William Ruto has joined Kenyans in condoling with the family of retired President Daniel Arap Moi as they mourn the sudden death of Jonathan Moi.
The Deputy President took to his Facebook page to express his sympathies to Moi's family.
"Saddened by the passing on of Jonathan Toroitich, son of former President Moi. Jonathan made his name as an ethusiastic, competitive and masterful rally driver," Ruto posted.
The Deputy President added, "He was sociable, affable and loved a good laugh. Jonathan treasured family, friendships and committed himself to bettering the lives of others. Rest In Peace."
President Kenyatta led Kenyans in mourning Jonathan Moi.
Jonathan was Moi's eldest son and was a Safari rally driver in the 80's and 90's.
He retired from Safari rally in 2000, two years before his father quit politics.
Jonathan demise was confirmed by Lee Njiru, Moi's long serving Press Secretary.
Baringo Senator Gideon Moi who is the deceased brother has mourned him as a down-to-earth person.
The family will give a detailed statement on his death on Sunday.
