Kariobangi Sharks had to rally from behind to overcome stubborn Sofapaka 3 - 2 and lift the FKF SportPesa Shield, in an entertaining final played on Saturday, at MISC, Kasarani.

Sharks opened the scoring on the hour mark through George Abege before Steven Waruru equalized for Batoto ba Mungu, through a header from Kevin Kimani's superb free-kick two minutes before halftime.

On the return of the second half, Kevin Kimani put Sofapaka ahead with a second goal.

And Sofapaka looked headed for the victory before Sidney Lokale rose to the occasion and leveled for the hosts.

Three minutes later the tables turned against Batoto ba Mungu as George Abege found the back of the net, scoring a brace and sending the home crowd in unabated wild cheers.

Albeit, Sharks joy was almost cut short minutes later, after Sofapaka were awarded a penalty kick as Kimani was fouled in the penalty area by Geoffrey Shiveka, but as after would have it, Abege's goal proved the last nail on the Sofapaka coffin as Kevin Kimani failed to convert from the penalty spot.

Meanwhile, 2017 champions AFC Leopards gave their fans something to smile about after an awful season with 5 - 4 post-match penalty shootout victory against Ulinzi Stars, after a 1 - 1 stalemate; to finish third.

Former Leopards lad Bernard Ongoma put the soldiers Infront from the spot on 73rd minute after Isaac Oduro fouled Ulinzi player in the penalty area.

With six minutes to play, Eugene Mukangula equalized for the Leopards with a low shot. Leopards shot stopper Ezekiel Owade propelled his side to victory with two penalty saves.

AFC Leopards took home KES .075M while Ulinzi Stars bagged KES 0.5M.

Runners-up Sofapaka took home KES 1M while the winners Kariobangi Sharks pocketed KES 2M with a ticket to represent Kenya, in the 2019 CAF Confederation Cup.
