Speaker Moffat Teya has for the first opened up about impending impeachment motion against him, coming at the time county speakers across the country are undergoing turbulent times.
Highly placed sources confirmed that Governor John Nyagarama hosted ODM MCAs on Tuesday to craft for his removal in a meeting that lasted for two hours.
"I can assure you the governor is neutral but Teya's war with former deputy speaker Duke Omoti is getting messy. We shall also have Majority Leader Duke Masira kicked out," said the source within Nyagarama's communication team.
Despite showing solidarity in public, Teya and Nyagarama are silently rocked in a tussle over their opposing ideologies in development.
In a short statement, the speaker said he was shocked to learn of the ongoing development, adding that the truth shall emerge. He also asked residents to dig deep and understand the crisis.
"I am shocked to learn about the Thursday's secret meeting but through God, we shall sail through," he said.
Some of the reasons he pointed out as genesis of his predicaments include:
1. Itemized Budget being the biggest.
2. High wage bill and being against more recruitments which are ongoing.
3. Refusing to accept 16 chief officers because already wage bill is unsustainable. This led to cancellation of interviews.
4. Fighting to see that revenue is automated which the executive has totally refused to implement despite a 140M Budget allocation.
5. Standing with ECDE teachers and ordering the executive to pay all their arrears.
6. Hon Duke Omoti impeachment which was Squarely done by MCAsAll these issues were not received well by the authorities.
