Supreme Court judges will deliver judgement on the Wajir gubernatorial petititon on Friday 15.
In a notice by the Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court on Tuesday, the Chief Justice (CJ) David Maraga led-court will deliver the judgement on Friday at 2.30 PM.
The apex court in an earlier statement had promised to deliver the judgement before Thursday next week.
The Supreme Court rubbished claims that it is delaying judgement on the Wajir gubernatorial petition.
The court said that it is still within the 90 days stipulated period for hearing and determining petitions.
Anxiety had gripped Wajir residents over the perceived delay in delivering the judgement.
Lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi had earlier hit out at the apex court accusing it of allegedly delaying the Wajir gubernatorial verdict.
Ahmednassir is representing former Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi in the petition.
Abdullahi petitioned the election of governor Mohamed Abdi Mohamud.
In 2018, the High Court and the Court of Appeal nullified the election of Governor Abdi.
The two courts ruled that the Jubilee governor was not validly elected and ordered for a fresh gubernatorial poll.
