A bus belonging to the Buzeki Logistics Company was on Thursday involved in an accident along the Bonje blackspot in Kilifi county.
The company belongs to Uasin Gishu based tycoon, business mogul and politician Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki.
The bus was reportedly headed towards Mariakani at the time of the incident before veering off the road and colliding with a lorry.
Two people died as a result of the head on collision with the Mombasa bound lorry, which also left other passengers in the bus injured.
The Incident was confirmed by Rabai OCPD Michael Ndonga.
"It's true we have lost two people who were in staff bus. It belongs to Buzeki transport company," he was quoted by the Daily Nation.
The police boss said that the accident might have emanated from faulty brakes on the side of the bus.
"The lorry was driving towards Mombasa and on reaching Bonje its brakes failed and it veered off the road towards the other lane.
It had a head-on collision with the staff bus, killing two people on the spot. Several others were injured and taken to the hospital. I will issue more details once I get them," he added.
Buzeki unsuccessfully vied for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat in the previous polls before losing to the incumbent Jackson Mandago.
