Kisii County Governor James Ongwae on Tuesday commissioning the drilling of a borehole at Kenyoni in Sensi ward, Kisii County.
Addressing the public after commissioning the project, the county boss said water from the borehole is estimated to serve more than 3000 households in Kenyoni 1, Nyabikondo, Irianyi villages and partly, residents of the neighboring county of Homa Bay.
"Clean water for use by our people is my top priority. Once the borehole will be drilled pipes will be connected to homesteads for residents to use," he stated amid cheers .
The ODM allied governor maintained that he is committed to fulfilling his campaign promises adding that rivals should consider joining his camp.
He challenged residents to be patient and give necessary support for the contractor to complete the drilling of the borehole in time.
"A central tank will be used to supply water to surrounding areas. Every homestead must get access to clean water," said Ongwae.
Ongwae assured that he will traverse the whole county to commission development projects.
"Every corner of this country must be developed no matter what. Local politicians should stop playing hatred politics," he added.
