Veteran comedian Walter Mong'are alias Nyambane could yet again be tasked to explain loss of millions meant for youths during International Youth Day.
After the function which was held early this month at Kisii School, hundreds of youths who attended following the invitation by government accused the comedian of defrauding them, a claim which he denies.
"Those who were on the list got their money. We were giving Sh1000 to all those who participated and were on the list," he claimed.
But a section of youths have picked up the matter and expressed their dissatisfaction on various social media groups further igniting discomfort.
Youth Secretary in the office of the DP William Ruto, Mr. Antony Kibagendi, who was also among the organisers, conceded on Monday that some youths were shortchanged.
"I am aware that some were even paid Sh500 instead of Sh1000 as agreed. This is a matter we are looking at and those behind the fraud will be dealt with," he told Egesa FM.
The event brought together thousands of youths from across the country who would later be privileged to share with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Mr. Nyambane, a former comedian, is currently working as part of the youthful team in President Uhuru Kenyatta's Harambee office.
While it is not clear how much was lost, some youths claim over Sh2 million was fraudulently taken by organisers.
