In February this year, Rosemary's uncle Dr Oburu Oginga, confirmed that the ambitious young Odinga had fully recovered during the 25th anniversary of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga in Kisumu.

"As you know Rosemary was sick but we thank God she has now recovered fully," said Dr Oginga.

He added: "She is a true Odinga and a fighter. This is evident in the spirit she has fought this illness with."

Prior to 2017 elections, Rosemary withdrew from Kibra Constituency race where she was to face ailing MP Ken Okoth, due to what she termed as health failure. It would later emerge that she had gone blind while undergoing brain tumor treatment in South Africa.

On Monday, a jovial Rosemary, who has been operating from her father's Mombasa home, was seen walking without aide in the company of Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu.

"Was happy to receive Governor @mamangilu at Capitol Hill Square and compare notes on matters of national interest," Raila tweeted without mentioning the condition of his daughter.

A senior ODM lawyer, who spoke in confidence since he's not authorized to speak on behalf of Odinga's, said Ms Odinga can now walk without any aide and she had improved significantly.

"I have met her and I can assure you she's now okay. Her recovery is a manifestation that miracles do work. It's a boost for the family. She has been undergoing treatment in China and now she's okay."
