Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi has taken a swipe at the handshake and Building Bridges initiative signed between Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In an exclusive interview with Citizen Tv on Tuesday night, the former Deputy Prime Minister brushed aside the importance of the handshake stressing that it is not at all important as thought to be.
"The handshake has achieved a measure of tranquillity, but my issue with it is that it is vague," Mudavadi said.
“What is the structure? Have resources been allocated to the Building Bridges task-force?” he wondered when asked about the importance of the structural implementation of the initiative.
He is among the National Super Alliance (NASA) principals who were disgusted at Raila Odinga's move to join hands with President Uhuru Kenyatta following the election in which NASA refused to take part in citing lack of transparency in the electoral body IEBC.
The pact between Raila and the President was actually meant to end corruption and divisive elections, strengthen devolution, and address ethnic antagonism, lack of national ethos, inclusivity, safety and security of Kenyans for a shared prosperity.
A few of those have so far been achieved while others also seem achievable, more effort is required.
It remains to be seen how Mudavadi's sentiments are taken down in the coming days.
