The second term ODM legislator, who was recently installed as Gusii community spokesman, has been vocal on matters human rights.

Estranged lawyer Miguna Miguna showered Arati with praises on his Twitter.

"When mobilizing for the NRMKe with @SimbaArati (the brave and patriotic MP who gave our struggle and movement 1,000,000%) from Nov. 2017-Feb. 2018, I always told our supporters 3 things: If you are ready to die, to go to jail or to be exiled, then you are a SOLDIER of the NRMKe," he wrote.

Controversial activist Samuel Okemwa backed Arati his Kisii gubernatorial seat adding that his leadership skills are 'beyond threshold'.

"I am personally proud of him. When I visit Kenya, we do meet and discuss on how to move Kenya forward. He is fit to be Kisii county boss."

Apparently, the two were vocal supporters of Raila Odinga but the handshake polarized the relationship.

Mr. Arati has been pushing for the release of businessman Don Bosco Gichana, who remains locked in Arusha prison despite authorities failing to charge him.
