Malindi MP Aishi Jumwa has maintained that she will not abandon Deputy President William Ruto's camp until he succeeds President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking at Kahawa Wendani Anglican Church on Sunday, Jumwa said that she will remain obedient until Ruto becomes the head of state.
She insisted that the second in command has what it takes to ascend to power when that time comes.
The legislator said that Ruto has proven beyond doubt that he has the interest of the people at heart. She also said that claims that the DP has been blocked from visiting Kiambu are baseless.
The lawmaker said that the grand reception Ruto was accorded in Kiambu shows he is loved by all.
“Mimi nimepigiwa simu kutoka huko mnajua mimi natoka Mombasa. Na watu wakawa wananiuliza sasa ni vipi tumesikia DP ameambiwa asiende Kiambu lakini nilipokaa hapa nikasikia bishop amesema Kiambu ni sisi,” she said in part.
( I was called and you know very well I hail from Mombasa. And people started asking me that how comes DP has been told not to set his foot in Kiambu but when I was seated there and heard the bishop speak, he said Kiambu belongs to us)
She also said that Ruto is the man to beat during the race to succeed President Uhuru upon completion of his second and final term in government.
