Speaking in an interview at Chamgei FM, one of the vernacular radio stations, Keter said he has evidence that some senior politicians have been forcing parastatal chiefs to do unscrupulous activities to finance a top government official that is prospectively vying for 2022 presidential election.

“I have evidence that some of these Kalenjin CEOs and heads of parastatals were used to loot funds. One of them who was sacked, confessed to me that he was shown the door because he refused to play ball," said Keter.

The outspoken legislator further said that those who are involved to any corruption allegations should not showcase any attempt of hiding behind the tribe hinting that the war on graft is on course and any charges made on those individuals should not be politicized for the community to shield them against.

The rebel Jubilee MP also lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta’s spirited efforts in the war against corruption and urged the government not relent in the fight.

Politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto led by Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei have vowed to fight back on the crackdown of the corrupt claiming that the arrest of the suspects on Fridays is discriminatory and unlawful.

“We want to set point straight to the office of the DPP and EACC not to be used for political motives, arresting our people is a witch-hunt and behest of profiling the community as corrupt,” Senator Cherargei told the press in Eldoret town last Monday.
