President Uhuru Kenyatta Sunday revealed there were sinister attempts to have him stop the ongoing demolition of structures built on riparian or public land.
Speaking during a church service in Karen, he said that he had told the callers that impunity had to end and that the demolitions would continue.
"Many have called me asking ‘ how can you be watching when all the destruction is going on?’ I say a time has come to fight impunity," President Uhuru said.
His revelation come amid ongoing demolitions that have rocked the capital Nairobi.
A number of malls have already been mowed down in an operation that illustrates the state's resolve to deal with illegal structures.
