A former Member of Parliament from Gusii region has reacted after ODM party expelled Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori on grounds that the lawmaker went against the party policies by making alliance with DP Willaim Ruto.
Protus Momanyi, former Bonchari MP said Raila's ODM party should pardon the MPs.
"Raila agreed to shake hands with President Uhuru kenyatta after the divisive politics in 2017. No one expelled him and now my question is why is the party expelling Jumwa and Dori who extended the handshake to DP Ruto? For the sake of the handshake let Jumwa and Dori be warned not to make alliance with Ruto in future as long as they are in ODM," he stated.
The soft-spoken ex-MP insisted that it is not the right time for ODM party to kick out the MPs since Raila and Uhuru initiated Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) a program aimed at uniting Kenyans.
He appealed to the former Prime Minister to intervene and stop the ODM party disciplinary action from sending away the two MPs.
"Raila has been a father of democracy for many years. Let him come to the rescue of Jumwa and Dori," he added.
