President Uhuru Kenyatta has for the first time spoken about the controversial sugar scam which saw his brother, Muhoho Kenyatta implicated.
At parliament on Wednesday, Aldai MP Cornelly Serem sensationally claimed that Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i had disowned Trade committee summons because Muhoho was among those implicated.
"Matiang'i has snubbed the summons because he knows well a powerful member of the first family, Muhoho Kenyatta is among the culprits," he said.
And the ongoing crackdown has precipitated sharp divisions with Jubilee with MPs allied to DP William Ruto accusing Uhuru's camp of witch-hunt.
But on Thursday at Gigiri, Uhuru faulted politicians of politicing the fight against graft adding that his brother is not immune from prosecution.
"People are out bundling my brother yesterday. I have no problem. If he is guilty, let him be dalt with," said Uhuru.
He added: "We must develop trust in our institutions, that they will protect the innocent and prosecute the guilty."
This comes after Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri vowed to file protest against Mr. Serem at Powers and Privileges committee in parliament.
Jubilee party is undergoing torrid moments with reportedly cracks between the president and his deputy escalating the show.
