Life is not easy, everyone has a story behind his/her success and so is the late Joseph Kamaru a Kikuyu pop legendary singer who was laid to rest on Thursday. May his soul rest in peace.

The legend went through some challenges in life which could have made him give up in life but he died a hero.Leaders from all walks of lives including president Uhuru Kenyatta, former opposition Hon. Raila Odinga and deputy president Hon. William Ruto just to name but a few attended his burial in Kaharati home, Kangema, Murang'a county.This writer tried to study Kamaru's life and some aspects made him be a hero to the nation.

1. Hard working.

Kamaru had over 2000 songs under his name. This shows how hardworking he was to write and produce numerous good songs to his fans.

Before fully venturing into music he sold fruits and vegetable.

He also worked as a cook and cleaner at Kahawa barracks. Evidently, he never chose jobs like most of us do.

2. Determined.

Even after the white neighbours broke his guitar Kamaru did not give up. He soldiered on and became a legend and a household name to many.

The whites are said to have broken his guitar citing that Kamaru was making a lot of noise while practising how to play. They broke it into pieces.

Due to his hard work and determination, Kamaru won many awards and radio broadcasting deals.
