Kenyans expressed anger, after the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) released its monthly review, increasing pump prices once again.
In accordance with Legal Notice No.196 of 2010, the Energy (Petroleum Pricing) Regulations and the amendment ERC calculated the maximum retail pump prices of petroleum products which will be in force from July 15, to August 14, 2018.
"Taking into account the weighted average cost of imported refined petroleum products, the changes in the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices in Nairobi are as follows: Super Petrol increases by KShs. 3.39 while Diesel and Kerosene decrease by KShs. 0.35 and KShs. 1.48 per litre respectively," said ERC.
The Commission assured the general public of its continued commitment to the observance of fair competition and protection of the interests of both consumers and investors in the Energy sector.
In Mombasa, the pump prices would retail at Sh108.90 (Super petrol), Sh99.96 (Diesel), and Sh82.94 (Kerosene) per litre.
In Kilifi: Sh109.11 (Super petrol), Sh100.17 (Diesel) and Sh83.15 (Kerosene) per litre.
In Kwale: Sh109.3 (Super petrol), Sh100.29 (Diesel) and Sh83.15 (Kerosene) per litre.
