Self proclaimed Gusii spokesperson Simba Arati will on Wednesday host hundreds of supporters at his Bobasi home for a birthday party that will also be attended by his Chinese wife.
Youth leader Beavon Magare said that party will be used as a thanksgiving ceremony for his milestone in national leadership.
"On Wednesday you're all welcome to Bobasi. The spokesperson of the community will be celebrating his birthday. The occasion will help us also chat the way forward.
"There is nothing political about it but am sure it's gonna be big. We are expecting several local and national leaders to attend," he said.
In March this year, Arati sparked divisions among members of the community following his controversial crowning with a section of elders condemning the move.
Gusii Council of Elders chairman James Matundura dismissed the move, adding that Arati had violated 'standing orders' of the council.
"He doesn't have our blessings. He didn't consult us so nobody recognises such events. It's self imposed," he said.
Mr Arati, who is serving as Dagoretti North MP in his second term, is said to be lobbying to succeed Governor James Ongwae who retires in 2022.
Significantly, his political decision seems to be enjoying support from among youths in Kisii and Nyamira Counties.
