The funds, according to a recent report by the Auditor General, were meant for various development projects in the county's seven counties in the 2016/2017 financial year.

The report has since brought former Governor Jack Ranguma and his leadership under scrutiny, with the report adding that some of the projects were either abandoned in early stages or never done at all.

The report, as was seen by Citizen Digital, adds that the expenditure cannot be supported by the previous documents.

One of such is the Mamboleo Slaughterhouse which had been allocated Sh12 million for renovation, construction of a perimeter wall and the installation of steel tanks.

However, the contractor has since abandoned the project despite having received the payment.

Another contractor was reportedly awarded a Sh4 million tender to construct a perimeter wall at Kanyakwar, a project that never began at all.

Another Sh35 million was paid to a contractor to construct a perimeter wall around Korowe Market, but the job was poorly done and large cracks have since formed on the wall.

Odoa Water pan and Nanga borehole water projects were also abandoned despite having been awarded Sh9 million each.
