The medics led by Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital boss, Dr Enock Ondari claimed that medics' lives are in danger after a doctor was attacked while at work at the facility.

"One of our colleague was attacked during the Christmas eve by a man who had accompanied an accident victim to the facility. We will not condone attacks on medics who have committed their times to serve the people who turn against us," he stated.

Mr. Ondari called on the county government of Kisii to ensure the medics' security is tight failure to which they will boycott work.

"Governor Ongwae should move with speed and engage Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i to deploy more police officers to protect medics while at work because some patients have ill plans against us," noted Ondari.

The medics boss warned residents against attacking medics saying the poor locals seeking medical care at various health centres will continue suffering once medics boycotts work.

"Residents should stop harassing doctors while at work. Respect is important to one another," he added.
